This website focuses on the activities in the Chester branch. If you are interested in the details for another branch, or want the details for the guild as a whole, please click one of the buttons below.
The Chester Branch of the Chester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers (CDGCBR) comprises 20 towers. Our branch stretches from Malpas in the South to Backford in the North and from Dodleston in the West to Tarporley in the East.
The most important part of bell ringing is to ring for Sunday service, but as a society we support each other in a variety of ways. We are an active society with plenty of ringing and social activities. We have regular practices around the branch. All ringers are welcome to come and join us at any of our events.
If you are interested in learning to ring church bells you would be made most welcome at one of our towers, where you would be taught to handle a bell.
Students coming to Chester are particularly welcome, both established ringers and those who would like to learn. Read about the different towers in which you can ring and look forward to belonging to a county-wide network of bellringers.
Only events occurring within the next 30 days are shown here.
